Day 5 of P90X: Legs & Back with Ab Ripper X

It was a beautiful day today!!! Weather was perfect, it wasn’t too hot or too cold, and a perfect day to walk around a few Disney parks 🙂

Later tonight, we Brought It with Legs & Back and Ab Ripper X. I’ll be honest, legs are my weak spot, both from a strength and balance perspective. I try to focus as much as I can on this workout in an effort to strengthen this important area of the body. Especially in this new round of P90X, I really want to focus on bringing them up to speed literally and seriously.

One thing that was interesting today, is that I broke away from a diet plan I was following the last few days (nothing structured or crazy, just ensuring I have veggies, lean protein, water at every meal…including egg whites, chicken, and meals like that). When I completed today’s workout, I felt a little more sluggish than I usually do. I realize this is Day 5 in a row, but it’s interesting how food choices can really set you up for success or struggle. In the past two rounds of P90X, I could feel the consequences of poor food choices (especially beer/etc) in each workout…..

BUT, don’t get me wrong, that doesn’t mean you have to stick to a bland dinner plate. In fact, Tony Horton himself (the man behind P90X) sticks to a 90/10 diet. 90% healthy, nutritious choices through the day, and 10% indulgence (of the total caloric intake that you use…if you need help determining this for you, Contact me and I’ll help you find out).

Speaking of nutritious choices…my Shakeology is slated to arrive at my door on November 15th. I look forward to sharing my thoughts and review on this product once I begin. The nutritional information provided for the Shakeology Chocolate Shake is impressive to say the least. Minimum calories, sugar, and fat, and mega-loads of great things that your body needs to fire on all cylinders (VIEW THE NUTRITIONAL FACTS HERE). If people are true with what they say (“Lost 10 pounds in 30 days” “It tastes more like a Milkshake/Starbucks drink”), then I’m going to be very pleased!

Have a great night!

Coach Bob
