P90X2 X2 Recovery and Mobility Review

Hello everyone! Today I’m chatting it up about my P90X2 X2 Recovery and Mobility Review.

I’m now in Week 3 of P90X2 and so far I’m feeling great! In fact, even though it may be too early to say this, I feel that P90X2 is a great program that strongly compliments, and even improves upon, P90X. I feel my core getting stronger, my abs more defined, and my large struggle with balance improving!

I’ve ordered two things to help my journey: E&E (Energy and Endurance Pre-Workout Formula from Beachbody), and P90X Results and Recovery Formula (Post-Workout drink). I have not tried either one of these supplements yet, but I hope to add them into my regimine starting tomorrow before/after Balance + Power and see how it helps! I’ll post a review and blog/video blog after I give it a try!

Wow! What a great experience! This was really my first time experiencing the foam roller idea. Before that I never knew what foam rolling was or what myofascial release was either! It’s a great recovery after X2 Core and Plyocide!

The first part of this workout was balance and mobility with a few stretches thrown in as well. The second sequence is foam rolling, where you use either the Foam Roller or Rumble Roller to give yourself the massage of a lifetime through the technique of myofascial release. The trick behind myofascial release is really taking your tight/hot spots and applying pressure to them from the foam roller to release the tension in the muscles. I felt great after foam rolling! In fact, after you foam roll Tony has you repeat the mobility section of the workout to demonstrate the positive impact of foam rolling.

What is a foam roller? Well, below is a picture. Don’t think this is some type of swimming pool noodle. It has the right amount of foam to ensure the pressure isn’t too much or too soft leading to the best myofascial release techniques.

Beachbody also provides the Rumble Roller that provides even more deep tissue massage due to its uneven and raised nodules like you see in this picture:

My hot spots? My lower back, hamstrings, and right calf. I look forward to continuing to improve these areas over time.
