Think Exercising is too Hard? Welcome to the Ropes Course

Did you ever start a workout, exercise, or program only to stop halfway through the program, not finish a particular day’s workout, or all of the above? If you answered yes to any part of that question, I have something interesting to share with you today! In fact, what I discovered, when applied appropriately, could help us all either become slim or ripped!

Think Exercising is too Hard? Try the Ropes Course Mentality and Get Slim & Ripped!

Think about this for a second. When we are in the middle of a workout or exercise regimen that is just too tough, we can easily stop, shut it off, and relax. After all, exercising is too hard, right? Same goes for any business such as the Beachbody Coach business. If things don’t seem to be going well, or everyone is too busy to commit to fitness, we can take a break.

Now think deeper into it. What good does that do? Sure, for the short term we enjoy the relaxation and worry-free environment, but the DREAM is lost. The dream you had of getting in shape, or the dream you had of making a full time income while helping countless people as a Beachbody Coach. Well, what if you didn’t have the opportunity to stop, break and relax? That is what leads me to what I was thinking about when I was about 50 feet in the air on the ROPES Course demonstration.

Each year in Orlando, the theme park industry hosts something call the IAAPA Expo. This expo has tons of different ride and attractions vendors that are selling the next big thing to the parks such as Disney World. This year I was able to attend and decided to hop on the ropes course that they had set-up on the floor. This thing was HUGE! It was about 100 feet up and had three different levels of challenges. Now in the past I would nervously avoid this thing, but this year, since I was in better shape and feeling optimistic thanks to Beachbody, I decided to give it a try! And….it was fun!

Check out this awesome video of me enjoying it from the top level:

Is Exercising Too Hard? – The Challenge of Finishing the Task

Think exercising is too hardAs I walked through the ropes course, it tested me physically and mentally. Cautiously stepping onto these ropes and walking across to the platform, while 100 feet up, is terrifying. Sure, you’re strapped into a harness, but you don’t dare think of falling off of the rope, because it would be embarrassing to be stuck there in your harness trying to reposition yourself. Once I got to the end of the ropes course, I had to turn around and go back to get to the exit stairs. At that point you just realized all of the physical and mental effort you put forward to get to the one side. But now you have to go back….

What are your choices at this point? Not really much of anything. You can hang out there, but eventually you’ll have to get down. The only real way is to walk across the ropes once again. There is no turning back!

As I was up there looking back over the obstacle course I had to once again face, I thought, wow, if there was no other way to turn to run or hide in the many things I do in my life, I’d be an untouchable champion! What do I mean by this? I mean that as we exercise or work a business such as Team Beachbody, we need to apply the ROPES COURSE MENTALITY!

ROPES COURSE MENTALITY: If we approach everything we do with the ability to not turn back and quit, stop, or pause, good things will happen. If you quit, just like in the ropes course, all is left is for you to hang there and die. Who wants to die FAT or BROKE? Not me! And I know you don’t want to either!! I’ll give my thoughts on the ROPES COURSE MENTALITY with two aspects: Exercise & Beachbody Coaching Business.

Exercise: Next time you pop in that P90X/INSANITY/TurboFire (or whatever) DVD in, remember you are on the ropes course. You can’t just stop early. You can’t halfass the moves if you aren’t giving it your all. Get in and go crazy, knowing that if you don’t, you’re stuck out in the middle of the course with no where to go by forward. Its painful and stressful, but the end result is ACCOMPLISHMENT and the Health and Body you always wanted.

Business: When I first started as a Beachbody Coach, I was excited and anxious. Wow, I can help people, I can lose weight, and I can make good money. Overnight right? Well, just like everything, it takes time, effort, and a consistent positive outlook. In a matter of 1-2 months, I got burned out, mad, and thought this whole thing was a SCAM. I thought of quitting the Coaching thing about 10 different times. Did I? Well, if I did I still wouldn’t be here :-). Instead, I stayed consistent, positive, learned from others, and kept moving on. Flash forward 6-months to today: I make anywhere from $700-1000 per month (awesome for only 6 months!), I have helped over 300 people get healthy and fit, and I have dreams of an even a larger future. Apply the same consistency to your business. Remember the ROPES COURSE MENTALITY. Don’t just stop and die hanging there by quitting. Keep moving forward, at the end of the course may lie that pot of gold you are after. (If you aren’t a Beachbody Coach and are interested, click here. You don’t have to be in shape and don’t need to be a fitness expert, you just need to have a strong will and desire to succeed. And of course be coachable to be a part of my expanding team).

I hope that makes sense, and you can apply the ROPES COURSE MENTALITY to any part of your business. Think Exercising is Too Hard? What if there is no way else to get to the end of the journey without it? Keep moving forward.
