HELP! I try and try and NEVER get results – Workout Motivation

workout motivationWorkout Motivation: Have you ever felt this way before? Seriously, the endless effort that you put into your workout, yet you feel either TIRED, PHYSICALLY EXHAUSTED, or WEAK? If the answer to that question is YES, that you are just like me. I struggled for about 1 year trying and trying and hitting brick wall after brick wall.

Here is a scenario: You decide to go for a 3 mile run around your neighborhood. About 1 mile in, you are ready to GIVE UP and say “Screw it”. Why? Because you are tired, you feel fat, and/or you feel way out of shape.

I spent the last year thinking up ways to motivate myself, and it paid off nicely. I lost 70 pounds, have visible abs, and feel much healthier. The same motivation is provided to my team beachbody team and they are getting the SAME RESULTS! So want to hear it? Read on…

First, if you are visiting my site for the first time…welcome! I’m a Beachbody Coach, and I regularly promote awesome at-home workouts such as P90X, INSANITY, and TurboFire (along with a plethora of high-quality nutritional products!). So, if you currently are doing one of these programs, have done a program, or are thinking of doing a program, this post will apply well to you!!

Workout Motivation – It’s really all in your head…

Workout MotivationYou read that right! The one thing that is holding you back from doing the entire workout, from succeeding, from seeing results, is those voices IN YOUR HEAD!!! Here are some of the quotes from those crazy voices in your head:

  • “This is insane”
  • “I should stop, I’m feeling tired”
  • “I can’t do this anymore”
  • “Seriously? I can’t do that, this workout is stupid”

Yes, I know, there are probably a million more! In fact, leave a comment below as I want to hear some other great quotes from the voices inside of your head!!!

Next are some emotional tips to reverse the voices in your head. These have worked for me, and trust me I used to have all of the excuses in the book. I would only finish the first half of P90X and stop because of these voices. But when I tried Reverse-Emotional-Engineering as I will call it here, my efforts were better and my results were greater!!

Workout Motivation – Reverse Emotional Engineering Tip #1 – A Millions Bucks!

Before you start the workout, think to yourself that you are in a competition. Think about your favorite competition show. Maybe American Idol? So you Think you can Dance? Etc, Etc. You are now the STAR of this new show, the [P90X / TurboFire / INSANITY / ETC] Challenge! The workout you are doing today is the finale, and if you get through it with 100% effort. You get this:

Workout Motivation Making Money

A MILLION BUCKS!!! Do this INSANITY workout today, go insane, dig deep, do all the moves, and you get $1,000,000.00. If its a problem near the end of the workout, think about this idea, and push through!! A million bucks is at stake!!

I know you don’t really get the money, but its about getting into that mindset. Have some fun with it! Before you know it, the workout will be over and you will feel ACCOMPLISHED!

WORKOUT MOTIVATION – REVERSE EMOTIONAL ENGINEERING TIP #2 – Be the Savior!

Workout MotivationThis workout tip works best for those with either young children, a boyfriend/girlfriend, or a significant other. I’ll reflect personally as I dig into this tip. The time the “Be the Savior” emotional thought started was with Mountain Climbers move with INSANITY (pictured to the right). I was extremely tired and thinking of giving up one day, but I thought of something.

I have a (at the time of this writing) 1 Year Old daughter that I love dearly. I pictured her at the top of this mountain, and how it was up to me, the strong DAD to get to the top in order to SAVE her from trouble! At the top of the mountain is a big YETI that is ready to hurt her!!! NOOO Climb Fast!! And yes….I climbed super-fast!! At the end of this move, I was like WOW, here I was ready to quit, and instead I pushed harder because I thought about this scenario. Reverse Emotional Engineering!

This could work with any move in every workout program. Think about how your efforts will save your significant other in any way you see fit. And guess what? Keep doing and you will SEE FIT 😛

Some pieces of a workout are better than no workout at all!! No matter what, you are still lapping everyone who remains on the couch…
