Don’t take the wrong P90X Measurements! You’ll regret it!!

When you are starting your P90X Journey (see: How to Start P90X), you need to make sure you take the right P90X Measurements. In today’s post, I’ll share how to take P90X Measurements the proper way so that you document your journey appropriately.

Do NOT become one of the people that turn around and regret that they didn’t take the appropriate steps BEFORE they started P90X. If you already started P90X, pause and do this step TODAY (right after you read this) to give yourself the reward you will deserve after 90 days.

How to take P90X Measurements the Right Way

I could bore you to death with a bunch of writing, but I found that this video we did at Beachbody really hits the nail on the head. Check out the video for the best tips on how to use the measuring tape correctly.

Why Take your P90X Measurements?

Most people start P90X for one of two reasons. They want to lose weight, or they want to gain a little more muscle (or maybe even both in the longer term). Taking your measurements in the areas discussed above in the video are beneficial to see this growth/loss.

Let’s take myself as an example. When I started my Weight Loss journey in 2010, I had a fat around my stomach and my arms. My original goal was to lose weight with P90X. My goal was to see decreases after each phase. Therefore, I took my initial measurement before I started P90X. Then I took them again on Day 30, 60, and 90.

The same goes for people who want to build muscle. You will want to take the measurements so that you can track your biceps, triceps, legs, etc growing with muscle after each phase.

*Note* – I strongly recommend NOT wasting your time taking measurements more than every 30 days. The reason being is that you don’t always see immediate results if you measure too often, which will get you discouraged quickly. Space it out so you can celebrate the big wins (success doesn’t happen overnight!).

Should you take your Photos as well as the P90X Measurements?

Absolutely! Measurements show you the facts, and the photos will show you the MAGIC! Please please PLEASE (I’m begging you here), take your photos exactly as described in the video below. I failed to do this originally, and only took one front and one side photo. I regret it wholeheartedly now that I’m fit.
