INSANITY Update: Week 4

INSANITY UPDATEHello everyone! For those who have been following my INSANITY workout journey, I wanted to provide the latest update. Now in week 4, I really feel an awesome difference in the program.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with INSANITY, it is like P90X on steriods!!! It is a very serious workout program that will give you the BEST results in only 60 days. That is my exact goal, to lean-up and show off some great muscles (while feeling like a champ) at the end of 60 days.

During Week 1, I was dying. To be quite honest, I could barely get through the warm-up of each day of INSANITY. If this sounds like you, even if you are half-way through the program….don’t worry about it! With the warm-up in each INSANITY workout, you do a series of moves, three times, with increased intensity each time you complete the warm-up. As you can imagine, the third time you are at full intensity and already worn-out!!

But I stuck with it!! And I’m glad that I did, because this past week I was able to get through the entire warm-up on each day and also feel great!! Was it easy? No….Was it worth it? Absolutely!!! Even though working out can be the biggest pain in the butt in the beginning, especially if you have a lot of weight to lose, stay consistent and dedicated, and you’ll find out that you’ll get stronger while the program gets easier to manage!

INSANITY Update: What exercise is the hardest in Phase 1?

This is the question I get a lot from my team. What did I think was the HARDEST and most BRUTAL exercise in the first phase of INSANITY.

If you would ask me in the first couple of weeks, I probably would have told you that the ENTIRE thing was hard! But after spending four weeks in phase 1, I have clearly and explicitly found the hardest, most brutal, scary workout for INSANITY to be………….PURE CARDIO!

This is hard for many reasons. First off, it seems to apply all moves that you do in programs such as Plyometric Cardio Circuit, Cardio Power & Resistance, and Cardio Abs. Not only are some of the hardest moves combined, there are NO breaks (no interval training at all). It’s not stop fun from the time the timer starts until the cool down. Consistent moves and very intense moves.

It’s true, I can’t get through the whole thing without a water break or stopping for a few moments to catch my break. One quote that Shaun T. says in this particular workout that stands out to me is: “I’m not trying to hurt you, I’m only trying to make you better.” That was AWESOME, and made me want to keep pushing!! Knowing that if I stick with this hard and seemingly impossible workout will eventually provide me with a healthier, better looking lifestyle. I say BRING IT!

Next week will be RECOVERY week, and I’ll be sure to do a review on Core Cardio & Balance which occurs in that week. Then, it’s time for Phase 2!!!!
